Today I overheard a year 7 student talking with her friends about a new bus driver in town.
Apparently this female bus driver is stunning – tall, blonde, make-up done subtly (BUT REALLY PRETTY!!) and beautiful manicured nails – she looks like a Barbie doll, only more realistic proportions. To top it off, she is nice and funny.
This description was followed by the comment “Isn’t it weird that someone like her isn’t doing more with her life?? I mean…driving a bus!! REALLY?”
It always surprises me the gems that the kids come out with and it makes me wonder what gender stereotypes her parents have instilled in her…
