Oneday project

I always admired with dreamy eyes, the collection of dresses housed in my friend Amy’s wardrobe. She is an executive assistant to a few high powered so and sos and needs to dress appropriately. Did that explain the 600 dresses that she moved into the wardrobe she now shared with her fiance?

When I first moved out of Sydney, Mum asked me if I was sure I didn’t want to get rid of some of my clothes so that A didn’t judge me. While I don’t have the ultimate Amy wardrobe, I spent my first 2 years of paycheques on clothes and partying.

During the two years in our new town, we have moved from a rental property with 3 double wardrobes (2 for clothes, 1 for my shoes), to our own apartment where I spent the first 3 months living out of a suitcase – many of my items do not fit in our temporary wardrobes and are, sadly, still in storage.

In my professional world, as a teacher in a regional town, jeans seem to be the uniform du jour. Only you all know where I stand on pants!
Is it wrong that I need more than jeans? It made my day in November 2011 when a student said to me “Miss, I don’t think you have worn the same thing twice this year” and so an idea was born

Term 1 starts back January 27, 2012. For the 205 days of the new school year, I will be documenting the clothes and the accessories I wear everyday and it will be fashion-tastic.

I look forward to entertaining you with my wonderful dresses, skirts, (the occasional pant leg), my shoes, sunnies, hats, scarves, necklaces, bracelets and earrings.

K xx

  1. Kate – this is great! My housemate and I tried to do a similar thing in our final year at uni – just for oursleves – we called it ‘archiving’. The idea was to take photos of our outfits to save time on future outfit problems! Sadly we were always too busy running out the door to take a photo but we still talk about the idea!
Will def be keeping up with your entries though – clothes!!!!!! sigh!

  3. Hahahaha I feel much better reading about how many clothes you have 🙂 in my bedroom I have a walk in wardrobe, large 2 tiered clothes rack with 6 drawers, a suitcase, a wardrobe in a spare room and a wardrobe and a couple of bags in my storage shed … I have given soooo many clothes away over the years but still I buy more …
